"QUESTIONS TO ASK POTENTIAL BUILDERS"

DO YOUR WALLS HAVE AN R VALUE BETWEEN R24-R30?
Legendary Logcrafters Ltd. uses large white pine logs. White pine has the highest R value of all softwoods. Our standard wall logs are (12"-24") and have an R value of R25 and our premium wall logs (14"-30") have an R value of R30.

ARE YOUR WALL SYSTEMS STABLE AND RESISTANT TO SHRINKAGE AND CHECKING?
White pine is the most stable of all softwoods. White pine has on average 30% less shrinkage than other softwoods which means less settling and a lot less checking and cracking.

DO YOU PUT PRESERVATIVE INSIDE THE CHANNELS AND NOTCHES?
The notches and channels are very susceptible to decay because there is no air movement. Legendary Logcrafters applies a preservative in all channels and notches to prevent logs from decaying inside out.

DO YOU USE AN EXPANDING FOAM GASKET AS WELL AS INSULATION BETWEEN LOGS AS THEY ARE REASSEMBLED?
Legendary Logcrafters uses an asphalt impregnated expanding foam gasket between the logs. This gasket is far more effective at eliminating air infiltration and it is decay resistant while fiberglass is susceptible to moisture.

DO YOU INCLUDE ONE COAT OF LOG PRESERVATIVE ON THE EXTERIOR OF ALL YOUR HOMES?
Legendary Logcrafters cleans and power washes and applies one coat of preservative on all their homes prior to delivery.

DO YOU IMPLEMENT ADVANCED LOG BUILDING TECHNIQUES TO PRODUCE THE FINEST HANDCRAFTED LOG HOME IN THE INDUSTRY?
Legendary Logcrafters implements techniques such as shrink to fit saddle notches, over scribing laterals and relief kerf cuts to ensure that fits are 100% when built and ten years later.

ARE YOUR HOMES DESIGNED AND INSPECTED BY A QUALIFIED CIVIL ENGINEER?
All of Legendary Logcrafters log homes are designed and inspected prior to delivery by a qualified civil engineer.
